The process of purchasing real estate as a long-term investment. Buy-and-hold investing may involve simply purchasing a property and paying the mortgage in order to cash in on equity at a later date, buying turnkey or actively managed rental properties, or buying land outright and simply holding it until a later date (this last strategy is most common when buying vacant or un/underdeveloped land).
