Think Realty honors the leaders and change-makers of real estate who represent the best the industry has to offer. These individuals are nominated by their peers, like you, and the finalists are determined by voting via public ballot.


How it Works

Nominations are open until July 24, 2020, with public voting from July 29 to August 21. Nominees will be publicized for public voting via email, social media, website, and more.

We will announce winners - by popular vote - at the Think Realty Conference & Expo - Atlanta on September 19. Winners in each category will be publicized in Think Realty Magazine, interviewed on the Think Realty Podcast, and able to attend the 2020 Presidents' Circle Meeting in Atlanta.

  • Anyone can submit a nomination, with one exception: You cannot nominate yourself. You may, however, vote for yourself.

2020 Think Realty Honors Nominees

Single-Family Investor

The honoree for this award is an investor excelling in the single-family sector, using any strategy related to single-family residential real estate.

Stuart Grazier is a Naval Officer with 18 years of military experience who enjoys leading others and helping them find their own success. He is co-founder of Storehouse 3:10 Ventures, a turnkey real estate company in Milwaukee, WI, that buys, rehabs, rents, and sells cashflowing rental properties to help investors gain financial freedom through rental real estate. The company also gives 10% of net profits to its partner non-profit organization. He is also co-founder of the RE War Room Mastermind Group where he helps manage a private network of military and veteran investors seeking to grow.
Bruce McNeilage has been a real estate investor for more than 31 years. He is co-founder of Harpeth Development as well as Kinloch Partners & Kinloch Homes, a real estate investment company and single-family home builder in Georgia with assets in the Nashville, Atlanta, Raleigh, Greenville/Spartanburg & Columbia, South Carolina MSA’s. Bruce is a national speaker and guest lecturer on the topic of single-family “Build to Rent” housing.
Funmi Obatolu, individual real estate investor
Greg Slaughter is a real estate investor and speaker with First Class Equities who provides real estate investment opportunities in the Phoenix real estate rent-to-own market. With more than 20 years in the industry, he is passionate about helping buyers and families that can't qualify for a real estate mortgage own a home regardless of their unfortunate past history.
Multifamily Investor

The honoree for this award is an investor excelling in multifamily real estate including, but not limited to, new construction and development, community master-planning & development, apartments, condominiums, cohousing, duplexes and larger multiunit investments, and other multifamily communities.

Neal Bawa is CEO / Founder at Grocapitus, a commercial real estate investment company. Neal sources, negotiates and acquires Commercial properties across the U.S., for nearly 500 investors. Current portfolio over 2000 units, projected to be at 3000 units in 12 months. Neal also serves as CEO of MultifamilyU, an apartment investing education company. Nearly 5,000 students attend his multifamily webinar series each year and hundreds attend his Magic of Multifamily boot camps. Neal is the co-founder of the MultifamilyU Investing Meetup network, a group of investors that has over 4000 members.
Ellis Hammond is a former college pastor turned real estate investor. He sees capital as a means to have tremendous impact for the glory of God and the good of others! He is founder of EllisHammond.com and manages a private network of investors seeking passive investment opportunities in multifamily syndications across the United States. His mastermind, Kingdom Capitalists, is the premiere mastermind community for established Christian real estate entrepreneurs, bringing together the most talented, faith-driven entrepreneurs and investors to create, sustain, and manage amazing businesses and wealth-creation vehicles.
Dan Handford is Managing Partner with PassiveInvesting.com, a national private equity real estate investing firm acquiring large $20mil+ apartment complexes across the southeast using private, accredited investor funds. He is founder of the Multifamily Investor Nation with over 26,000+ multifamily investors and apartment syndicators and a founding board member of the Fortify Foundation that supports Christian education for small- to mid-sized schools across the country.
James Kandasamy with Tremaine Real Estate is a multifamily real estate investor, mentor, podcast host, speaker and author. He owns and controls approximately 1700 units consisting of nine large apartment commercial real estate assets valued over $130m. His focus is to partner with busy professionals to invest as equity partners in the commercial real estate space.
Brad Sumrok is a nationally known educator and mentor for multifamily investing. After beginning in 2002, he has owned/invested in over 4,200 units. He has taught thousands the proven, time-tested essentials of how to profitably invest in apartments. Since 2012, Brad has helped his students purchase over $2B in apartment buildings and in 2019 alone, his students purchased buildings totaling over 6,400 units and more than $500,000,000 in acquisition volume.
Real Estate Investment Services

The honoree for this award is a company or association that excells in providing real estate-related services. This includes, but is not limited to, property management, private lending, real estate education, remodeling, contracting, investment management, software development, data management, web-based investing platforms, social media, and crowdfunding platforms and communities.

Ed Constable is a real estate investor, licensed realtor, and commercial property manager whose passion is to deliver the highest quality of service. His company Constable Holdings LLC specializes in purchasing and holding commercial, multifamily and residential real estate in Michigan.
Carrie Cook holds two executive level roles consecutively as President of Ignite Funding and CEO of Preferred Trust Company. She has more than 14 years of experience specializing in private lending and is a licensed Mortgage Broker with the Nevada Mortgage Lending Division and Arizona Department of Financial Institutions. With over $750 million funded since leading Ignite Funding, she is committed to the preservation of investor capital. As CEO of Preferred Trust Company, a licensed retail trust company that holds custody of alternative assets on behalf of IRA account owners, Carrie oversees all functions within the business. She isalso a certified Self-Directed IRA Professional.
Michael Gevurtz is an entrepreneur and investor in the real estate and finance industries. He is the CEO and founder of Bluebird Companies, a diversified real estate organization specializing in private lending, development, and construction management in neighborhoods undergoing urban revitalization.
Bryan McPherson is a lending professional at Bay Equity. With more than 15 years' experience, he enjoys educating his clients on buying and refinancing loan options. He has a vast knowledge of new construction, renovation, and investment property lending.
Randy Newman is CEO of Total Lender Solutions where for over 15 years, he has been an independent third-party trustee representing lenders who need to foreclose on deeds of trust in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Texas. He specializes in complex commercial loans (multinote and multicollateral), SBA loans, property law, and multilot developments.
John Parker has more than 30 years' experience in the industry and owns Powder River Investments, a company that buys properties in any condition in the Ft. Lauderdale area. He also specializes in inventory before it comes on the market and can help buyers find residential and commercial property with equity (even land) anywhere across the country.
Anne Marie Rogers is a Sales Officer at Quest Trust Company and directly oversees the Houston, Dallas, and Austin operations. Quest Trust Company is a Self-Directed IRA provider that allows Americans to choose their own investments in assets such as real estate, private companies, promissory notes and more. In addition to Anne Marie's proven experience in marketing and sales, she is also a Certified IRA Services Professional. As one of the lead female public speakers at Quest Trust Company, Anne Marie travels around the country educating investors on the benefits of self-direction. Anne Marie teaches Americans how to take control of their retirement through her experience at Quest IRA and from personal experience doing her own note investments, starting in her early 20s.
Justin Sloan is a commercial and personal insurance broker & consultant with over 12 years of experience in the industry. He owns and manages two companies located in Connecticut: BSP Insurance and Captivate Agents. BSP Insurance is a full-service independent insurance agency that offers all lines of insurance for individuals and businesses in 38 states. Captivate Agents is a social media marketing and design company serving businesses of all sizes throughout the USA. Justin also does business consulting to help guide owners through education on brand guides, social media marketing, networking, and community outreach. He is also on the Board of Directors and is the Treasurer for the CTYIP (Connecticut Young Insurance Professionals).
Linda's Legacy: Industry Impact Award

Linda’s Legacy: Industry Impact Award is named in honor of Linda Liberatore, a champion of the REI industry who pioneered industry innovations and paved the way to success for the many investors she mentored along the way. In tribute to Linda, this award goes to a real estate investor who exemplifies creativity, integrity, and financial success and is changing or shaping the conversation about real estate and real estate investing.

Hercompany also partners with investors to buy large apartment complexes that provide consistent returns. She loves working with and improving her community.

John Schaub with Pro Serve Corporation has more than 35 years of experience as a real estate investor. He enjoys providing quality housing at fair prices for working families in his community. He has authored two books and teaches two Making It Big On Little Deals seminars each year where students learn how to identify the best investment property in their town, how to buy it at below-market prices, and how to negotiate terms that guarantee a profit. John also invests his time helping those who cannot afford to buy a home through conventional sources through his work with Habitat for Humanity and the Fuller Center for Housing.
